Spur IT Services - New Port Richey, Florida
Spur IT Services is a managed IT provider supporting clients across Florida and around the United States. We're growing, and we're looking for someone early in their IT career who wants real hands-on experience and a genuine shot at building a career, not just closing tickets.
Spur IT Services provides IT support, cybersecurity, and cloud consulting for businesses across Florida and beyond. We help our clients run secure, reliable technology without needing an in-house IT department, covering everything from day-to-day support to network and cloud infrastructure.
Who does well here
Here's the honest truth about who does well here. You've got to be smart, technically curious, and fun to be around. We work closely as a team and closely with our clients, so if you're the kind of person who genuinely cares about the people you're helping, whether that's a client on the phone or the person sitting next to you, you'll fit right in. No fake customer service voice required.
Where you'll work
This is an in-office position based in New Port Richey. You'll be working from our office supporting clients remotely by phone, remote session, and chat, with occasional on-site visits to client locations when hands-on help is needed. This is not a remote or work-from-home role. Relocation assistance will not be provided and you should live within 45 minutes of our office in downtown NPR.
What your day looks like
Day to day, you'll mostly be fixing what's broken. Troubleshooting everyday issues, learning how our clients' systems are built, and picking up more as you go. It's hands-on problem solving and learning more than anything else.
Hours
Your hours will be 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a half-hour unpaid lunch and two paid fifteen-minute breaks built into the day.
What we're looking for
On the technical side, we're looking for genuine curiosity about how things work and a drive to keep learning. Any background helps, whether that's a help desk job, an internship, a certification like the CompTIA A+, IT coursework, or just serious tinkering on your own. We're flexible on how you got here.
Just as important is how you are with people. You'll be on the phone and in front of clients who aren't tech people, and the best techs are the ones who can explain what's going on in plain English, stay patient when someone's frustrated, and make people feel taken care of, not talked down to. If you can troubleshoot a network and also put a stressed-out client at ease, that combination is exactly what we're after.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, since on-site client visits are part of the job. You must also be legally authorized to work in the United States.
This is a drug-free workplace. Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screening and a background check.
Physical requirements
This role involves regular physical activity: lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs (servers, monitors, UPS units), working under desks and in server closets, climbing ladders or stairs, and being on your feet for extended periods during site visits.
